Which paper is which
With the summons you receive a Petition. The Petition tells you what the Petitioner is asking the court to do. The summons (JDF 1012) tells you what you must do: file a written response. The court says you may use form JDF 1015, Response to the Petition, and that you can file it online through Colorado Courts E-Filing or by mail or at the courthouse, and that the summons states the filing fee and offers a fee-waiver request.
What the response form asks
JDF 1015 asks whether the Petitioner's request should be granted, whether the facts in the Petition are accurate and, if not, what the correct information is. It then lets you ask the court for orders on the marriage, property and debts, and, where there are children, a parenting plan and child support. It also asks whether the children are Native American Indian. You supply every answer. CourtDocs does not choose them.
What comes after the response
The court's divorce guide (JDF 1010) says you will be scheduled for an Initial Status Conference within 42 days of the filing, that each spouse files a sworn financial statement within 42 days, and that there will be a court hearing if the spouses do not reach agreements. The response is the first deadline. It is not the last one.
The forms are free. The hearing day is the part nobody explains.
Everything linked above is free from the Colorado Judicial Branch, and it gets your paperwork filed. If your case goes to a hearing, the court’s forms do not tell you how that day runs. That is what we sell.
What The Court Day System is
- A method for the hearing day, in the order the day happens: ten fill-in sheets, a six-step ritual for getting an exhibit in, and evidence-rule elements you can read out loud.
- An admission tracker, drills, and a protocol for checking anything an AI tool gave you.
- Every sheet as PDF and editable DOCX. Instant download. 7-day money-back guarantee.
What it is not
- Not the court’s forms, and not a summary of Colorado law. Use the free forms linked on this page.
- Not legal advice and not a lawyer. We do not file for you, appear for you, choose what you argue, or predict what a judge will do.
- No promise about your result. It is a method for preparing, not an outcome.
- Not a fit for every hearing. It is built for hearings where you present evidence.
Secure checkout by Stripe. You review, edit and own everything you file. Questions or a refund: support@courtdocs.io with your receipt.
Want your specific hearing built for you? The Hearing Packet ($1,500) is ordered through an intake form and is not sold inside 14 days of a hearing. The same limits apply: you choose what to argue, and it is not legal advice.
